Tangotocup London

TangotoCUP London is the London leg of the worldwide Tango championship that culminates with the World Cup in Istanbul called T2I World Cup. T2I World Cup has preliminaries all over the world including in Buenos Aires. This year TangotoCUP London is happening in November and T2I World Cup will be held in Istanbul along with the world famous Tango2Istanbul Festival in March 2025. The London leg on it’s own will be a prestigious competition. Come along, participate and win some exciting prizes to further your Tango and help take Tango to more people around the world.

One of the goals of the competition is to remove any unconscious biases that exist in Tango and truly reward good talent and foster an inclusive culture within the Tango Community.

The rules for the London leg of the competition will follow the same rules as T2I World Cup. The competition will be held on Saturday late afternoon/early evening and finals of the popular categories on Sunday evening.

Sunday 17th November
Finals for Escenario and Salon Categories
Time: 8:30pm
Location: Los Angelitos, New Unity Hall, 277A Upper Street, Islington

On Saturday there is free entry for anyone to come and watch the main competition so please feel free to invite your friends. During the main competition on Saturday, we will be playing tango music between rondas and you are more than welcome to dance as you please. However, please note that entry to the Sunday Los Angelitos milonga is not included in your competition registration.

UPDATE: We are adding the “SOLO MILONGUERO” category, where participants can join without a partner. In this category, participants will dance with random partners for every song, aiming to rank in the competition. This category provides dancers the opportunity to challenge and improve themselves and is open to all social dancers. You can register today online here below.

Social Salon Category:
Entrance to the Quarter Finals (QF) of the T2I World Cup Social Salon Category.
Solo Milonguero Category:
Entrance to the Quarter Finals (QF) of the T2I World Cup Solo Milonguero Category.

Second Prizes:

Paid performance in London

Note: Participants in the Social Salon category must not be professionals (i.e., they do not teach or perform anywhere in the world, and do not have videos promoting themselves on YouTube or any social media. Videos of dancing uploaded by the general public are ok. The judges decision will be final on this matter). Participants in the Social Salon category cannot participate in the Salon category and vice versa.

Note: For the Escenario category, one of the prerequisites for entering the T2I WorldCup is for participants to finish in the Top 5 of one of the preliminaries. Our TangotoCUP London is one of those preliminaries.

You and your partner have to book separately. Once booked please follow the instructions in the confirmation email to complete your registration. Only after you complete the full registration, your spot in the competition is guaranteed.
